As travellers from the south of France, Kay and Emmanuel arrived in Aotearoa in 2014 on working holiday visas. On arrival they found it hard to find a good room to rent that suited their needs. They met a local lady who helped international travellers find accommodation so they felt at home while staying in the local area.
Kay and Emmanuel noticed they did not have to sign a tenancy agreement to protect them when flat sharing and did not receive a receipt for their bond. So, after a few months, they had an idea. They decided to start a company that managed properties by the room to take the stress out of property rental for landlords. Both Kay and Emmanuel know what it is like to arrive in the city and not be able to find good accommodation. Their idea was to offer flexible room rentals to travellers in the heart of the city so others did not experience the difficulties they did when arriving. Travellers can arrive and move straight into their new home without having to worry about anything.
EK Property is the realisation of Kay and Emmanuel’s idea and began operating in April 2014. The company acts as an agent between landlords and property managers and tenants. They do not charge a fee for their services and guarantee the monthly rent while maintaining every property to very high standards.
It is a win-win situation for everyone. Travellers can rent safe, modern, clean, furnished rooms in well managed properties with no problems. And landlords do not have the stress of looking for new tenants and EK Properties guarantee rental income. All rental rates include water, electricity and unlimited use of fibre internet as well as flexible contracts to suit the length of stay.
